We have had a great start to the new school year. The children have quickly settled into the school routine and each day brings another great day of learning for all. In September the children were awed by the performance of a master yo-yoist at a school-wide NED Show, which stresses our character education program. And then, in recognition of all the summer reading that was done by our students and staff members, and to continue to stress the importance of reading to all our students, we had another school-wide assembly in October in which the magician, Joe Romano, brought books to life through breath-taking feats of magic and illusions!
The PTO has also been extremely busy! In addition to their annual membership drive at the beginning of the school year, they have had a very profitable Fall Fundraiser. Please accept our thanks for your participation in helping to raise funds for our school. Again this year, the PTO hosted an Ice Cream Social on October 23, which was enjoyed by all who attended despite the need to end the evening early. The staff would also like to express their gratitude for the wonderful teacher luncheons that have been provided to them by the PTO.
As always we thank you for your dedication to the children of LakeRidgeElementary School. We look forward to the many activities that are still to come within this school year.
